I want a Pokemon game I can play on the PC. If it was on Steam (or something like Steam) you could trade Pokemon that way. And I hate playing on the 3DS.

I would totally play Pokemon if I could play it on PC (I don't own a handheld). Hell, I would settle for a pokemon game that works on my phone.

I am still hoping for a Pokemon MMORPG one day. That would fucking rock.

oh dear, no romance please. this shit is unavoidable enough as it is, i don't want any of it in my pokémon games. the game doesn't need it, no one is asking for it, so please, for fuck's sake, leave it alone.

IA. I don't need romance in my game about catchin' 'em all. Besides, I can make up mine own very easily. In B&W, I was pretty happy imagining N ending up with my character

I make up my own too. I ship my character with both Shauna and Valerie (I think she's pretty and she's always telling me how captivated she is by me when I fight her at the Battle Chateau)

ia - and I love romance. But I don't go to Pokemon when I want romance. Pokemon is for something completely different.

BW2 had a sideplot like that of sorts. I thought it was cute, but I wouldn't really want anything more than that in future games. Pokemon is for, well, Pokemon. The human characters have always been second to them.

But... your character is customisable in the last games? Or do you mean you want to customise all the characters in the game? That seems like a horrible idea.
Also, I really don't think adding a dating sim would cause some kind of controversy with parents. I never heard of anyone boycotting Harvest moon for inapropriate content for exemple. But Pokemon just isn't that kind of game so there would be no point in adding that to it. I think it would just turn some people who already like the games off really.

Black and White have the Ferris Wheel dates, BW2 have the celebrity crushes, and X/Y have the clothing shops and stylists, so... I guess you're pretty happy?

As for the second I have three problems with it. 1) Your character is, like, twelve or something. 2) I don't trust them enough to make the romance good. 3) It seems to me that it would be a tacked on thing because of what the game's focus is.

ahaha you're right, and I keep forgetting how young the characters are because they're Having Adult Adventures On Their Own. In my mind they're all 15-16. I don't even do it on purpose.

IIRC as of BW/B2W2/XY, the protagnosists were aged up to midteens.

Yeah, I always age mine up in my head too.

The PCs have definitely been aging up over the generations, which makes it even weirder when you go back and play, say, the Gen 1 remakes. Super-competent 10-year-olds ahoy~

At least the X/Y PCs are generally assumed to be at least 16, maybe even as high as (gasp) 18. Kind of a babyfaced 18, maybe, but I'll run with it.

YMMB, I'd say that depends on the games. Gen 5 and 6 player characters seem to be teenagers rather than preteens, so I could probably buy a romance sidestory with them more easily.

Still, you're right in that the writing and plot of the games are usually not conducive to romance sidestories.

But to respond to the text:

1. I agree but you do realize that the game is headed in that direction? In Gen VI you can pick your hairstyle and eye color and have three sets of complexions to choose from and you can change your clothes. Obviously it's not perfect but it's like 12 steps up from V. I definitely predict customizable characters in the future of Pokemon.

2. ehhhh. This game isn't really about romance. It's not even about the people as much as the Pokemon.

NGL, I thought you were Chris-Chan until the S!B.

The sprited characters are customisable like XY's protags, though. You just have to do it yourself in MS Paint.

I'm just baffled as to why you would want romance in a game that's about magical cock-fighting. I love dating sims but I like them separate from my animal fights.
