the arguments you mentioned were made against other assumptions, try again

Why? That in no way invalidates those summaries. That's literally what people were saying. "Those were the only extras around!"/"Moroccans are actually white!"/"AMERICAN!!!!"/"SJW!!!!!" are literally the 'arguments' being made to claim the scene was not a White Saviour moment.

And yes, they are fucking ludicrous. The casting was in no way colourblind or just "happened", and regardless of what Moroccans think of themselves, the intended (majority) audience of the show in no way considers them white (ignorantly or not), a fact of which the creators are entirely aware.

The "your American perspective has coloured your views on this issue" argument is relevant sometimes, but shrieking it blindly like an insult (as people have in this thread) at anyone and everyone who disagrees with them whether they are actually American or not could not be less relevant and could not be more intellectually dishonest and just plain dim.

Ariakas is not American, i.e. she is not a "yankee."

By, uh, being correct? Referring to the show's intended audience and creator intent, which you're trying to magically handwave away? That's flattering. Didn't know ignorant Europeans had good impressions of Americans, though, for the most part.
