Why are people talking about Free so much lately? It's weird.

Re secret: I thought the character design was interesting at first glance but the whiny comparison kind of killed fledgling interest for me, to be honest.

You're the one that need to mature. Free is a bad show, deal with it. Learn to accept that sometimes the things you like aren't good.

No, maturity would be understanding that not everyone likes the same things and not getting bizarrely worked up about it. It's okay that I like the show, it's okay that you don't. It's not mature crying about how terrible it is that people have the audacity to like something you don't.

Are you the same person who kept bitching about Free in a thread about a week ago while simultaneously talking about how ~deep~ and awesome the Snk anime is? What is your problem?

Hell no. The SnK anime is pure shit. The manga is better and has some inetersting points that were ruiend by the anime, but still far from deep.

There are several of us that can't stand Kyoanus shit. Free, K-On, Chuuni... is everything wrong with anime nowadays.

You can go back to /a/ now.

In this case they're both anime that feature sports and guys but that's about where the similarities end.

That's reasonable. I was mostly asking about the, what, 3 recent Free secrets and this one mentions it. I was thinking maybe something had happened like the second season was coming out or something.

Free's getting a season season, but I'm not entirely sure that's the reason.

Free! is getting a second season this summer I believe, so I think that's why it caught a second wave of anticipation.

Probably because it's what is popular atm and an example of the blatant pandering in the anime industry? Though admittedly pandering to fujoshi isn't quite as prevalent as pandering to male otaku so maybe the OP should have used a different series for comparision.

Most sports anime pander to fujoshi, though.

I suppose so, but pandering to fujoshi isn't all that prevalent. At least not when compared to the shit ton of blatant otaku pandering shows that come out every season.
