(Anonymous) 2014-03-29 12:46 am (UTC)(link)I expected more Bucky/Natasha for example, and that they would at least have some sort of history together (not necessary romantic) other than "I thought he was a myth and he shot me once" or whatever. I got really hopeful when she figured out who shot Fury as she seemed quite upset at the realisation and was really disappointed when she told Steve how she figured it out. I also feel that this negates Natasha's role a bit in my opinion (though she was definitely not a damsel in distress. What movie were those people watching?), as I feel that they almost could have put Clint in her role and there would only be slight differences (and a lot more ho-yay). So I really hope that Natasha lied to Steve about that, though I doubt it. All this also ties into my hopes of it being more of a Cold War thing, instead of a “continuation” of WWII that I felt we got. Though all of this was due to my own expectations like I said, so it's not really the film's fault.
Another thing I was slightly disappointed with was that they didn't reveal Sharon to be Sharon CARTER, as in that they only revealed her first name and not her last as well, but that’s a really minor thing as I assume most people who knows who Sharon Carter is would have picked it up from her first name.
That being said, I was actually really pleased with the movie. Loved all the actors (especially Seb Stan), most of the interactions, STEVE’S LIST (!!), FALCON (!!!), the soundtrack, Bucky and Steve in general (ouch my heart. I shed tears for them more than once, but I’m a crybaby though), Natasha and Steve being buddies, and a whole lot more. So yeah, I will most likely go see it once more in the cinema.
