I'm adding two more because why not I guess. These are probably my two favorite het ships (and there's so little fic. //weeps)

Isaac and Miria are the bomb

Celty and Shizuo didn't have a ton of scenes together in the anime but when they had screentime together, their dynamic was great and their friendship was very sweet. ngl, I would trade every Shizaya fic in the world for just a handful of good Celty/Shizuo ones

Omg, Celty and Shizuo have such a fantastic and funny dynamic. I love them so much and wish there was more fanworks with them. I'd trade all the Shizaya fic too for fic of them, but I'm biased and wouldn't miss them much since I can't stand that pairing.

I like the idea of Shizaya because it's the kind of fucked up dynamic that I often go for, but 99% of the fic just doesn't work for me. I'm still a bit bummed that Kida/Mikado didn't end up being the dominant m/m pairing (or at least more popular). Hell, I'd even take Shinra/Shizuo because their relationship is kind of hilarious and weird. Ultimately though, Celty/Shizuo is my all time favorite Durarara ship

I don't even like the idea of them tbh. They can't stand each other, especially Shizuo so I can't see them being in any sort of relationship together no matter how fucked up. That and I'm kinda tired of the "they hate each other so they must secretly love each other" trope and pairings.

Then again, I mainly Shizuo with Tom so I don't have much room to talk. I wish it was more popular. Ooh, I wish Mikado/Kida were more popular too. And seriously, thete needs to be more Anri/Mikado/Kida fics and doujins. They just scream OT3.

Oh yeah, I definitely don't think they're secretly in love or anything or that there could ever realistically be a romantic/sexual relationship between them, I just like really messed up pairings sometimes, haha

I'm down with Shizuo/Tom! I've always thought it was sweet that Tom always stuck with Shizuo even if he was a pain in the ass. I love the idea of Anri/Mikado/Kida :D

Oh, I didn't mean to imply that you did! I like my share of messed up pairings too and I like a bit of animosity in some of my ships too, but Shizaya just doesn't click for me. I guess it's because I'm too protective of Shizuo and the fact they absolutely hate each other. Plus, the relationship wouldn't end well. Particularly for Shizuo. ~~Tom could be there to pick up the pieces though. Could be an awesome hurt/comfort scenario. Damn it, now I want fic.~~

That's one of the main reasons I love the ship. Tom will always be there for Shizuo no matter wh. I love idea of it too, but it could be a bit hard to pull off.

Shizuo/Tom will always be the ship that should have sailed :( (At least Celty/Shizuo had some fic. I've only seen a couple of Shizuo/Tom fics, but I don't remember them being any good). On another note, I would also kill for some Simon centric fic. I'm not sure if I necessarily ship him with anyone (although I guess I'd give any pairing involving him a shot even if it's just out of curiosity) but he was always a fun character

It really, really should have, in my biased opinion anyway. But it was obvious that Shizaya would be a shit ton more popular than it or any other Shizuo pairing. He's got chemistry with other characters too, damn it. You don't need two characters at each other's throats for there to be any sort of chemistry. I'm forever going to be bitter about this.

There's like only a handful of Shizuo/Tom fic and all of it is terrible. The ones I've read are anyway. Theres a decent amount of fanart and doujins though. While those are nice and all, I really prefer fic. Maybe the new anime season will bring a few more fics for the pairing. Not going to hold my breath though. Got any Celty/Shizuo recs?

I'd love for a fic centered on Simon. He's one of my favorite characters and it was beyond awesome to see a black character in anime that wasn't a complete stereotype. I have no damn idea who to ship him with either. Maybe Shizuo? I'd read it.

I could buy Simon/Shizuo. I haven't seen the anime in a while, but I remember them having some nice scenes. I think they also contrast nicely with each other because Simon is basically who Shizuo wishes he could be like. Simon is also quite strong, but he has a lot of patience and only uses force when he really needs to (like when Izaya is being an asshole, haha). Shizuo on the other hand hates losing control but still gets angry frequently (...like when Izaya is being an asshole). I think Simon would be a good influence on Shizuo, whether as a close friend or in a shippy manner.

The author also has a Celty/Shizuo/Shinra fic that I enjoy, although I realize that Shinra is a polarizing character to some (personally, I like the little creep even though he is...well, creepy). She also has a Izaya fic that I like (no Shizaya that I remember!) that gave an interesting glance into his demented mind

I've not seen the anime in quite a while either and it's been years since I read the light novels but Shizuo did seem to respect Simon iirc. I could see them developing some sort of deeper friendship. One that's intiated by Shizuo trying to learn how to control his temper and strength from him. He would be an excellent influence on him.

I'm not too fond of Shinra tbh. And I can't don't like how his relationship with Celty is portrayed. I'm not buying it as some cutesy lovey-dovey relationship. If it was portrayed as fucked up as it actually is, maybe I'd be more into it.

I don't mind Izaya-centered fic. In fact, I like him so I'm more than happy to read a fic that explores the innerworkings of his mind.

OMG I love Mikado/Anri/Kida too :D I remember reading a Mikado/Anri/Kida/Saki fic once

Aw, I agree! When I first started watching the show, I thought I might find them a bit annoying but I ended up completely loving them. The scene where they rescue Czeslaw and tell him that they think he's a good boy (even though they completely misinterpret his motives, haha) still makes me tear up

Isaac and Miria are the best. The best the best wow I love them. Good taste. ♥
