I met with some fandom-turned-real-life friends, the weather was suitably spring-y and nice, I also ran into an old friend, we add a good time together, ate chocolate easter eggs, and bought tons of cheap books!

I got our dog microchipped (though the waiting was stressful because of so many dogs) and watched two episodes of Doctor Who!

The botanical garden that's part of my school has an annual event called the Day of Insects--eight hours of talks on insect-related subjects by entomology researchers and citizen scientists and just interested parties. I got to meet someone I previously only knew from a mailing list (he gave an awesome talk on ground beetles). Plus there was another talk about introducing second-graders to entomology fieldwork, and the slides of these little kids running around catching hover flies and scooping up caddisflies and water scorpions in dip nets, then rinsing them out and IDinig them, were just ridiculously cute. And then I bought five books from a used book bin.
