They have to have done something to me.

I can't think of anyone I actively hate, it's usually just plain old apathy instead.

Though, I'm sure if I was around someone a lot who's pretty shitty, I'd end up hating them.

Uh, I don't know? It depends on the person? I don't like, have a criteria or anything.

I don't particularly hate anyone except my cousins murderer, so I guess that is where I draw the line.

Wow yes. That would do it. I'm really sorry that happened to a member of your family.

For me, hating people is a waste of time. I get negative feelings toward people often enough, for doing something as minor as being rude toward me. But hate? Too much effort. I just withdraw from them and live my life instead.

Not easy. The only people I hate have done extreme things to me or a loved one.

I don't know if it's hate or just extreme loathing. I suppose there are some victimisers of friends I know of that I want to punch ten ways to Sundays. Is that hate?

I'd say it's easy enough - but it's more I am slow to hate, I tend to linger in the irritated dislike area for pretty much all of it so unless they do something major I'm unlikely to hate them.

I imagine there's at least a few people I hate, but I don't make a habit of it. Unless the person has done something truly deplorable, hate takes up too much energy (energy that can be used doing better things).

Do you mean fictional characters or real people?

Real people - there's maybe one that I outright loathe with every ounce of my being, would kill if I could get away with it, etc. So, I'd say it's pretty hard for me to hate someone.

Fictional people - much easier.

Well, I can dislike someone fairly easily and feel no qualms about ranting about all the things that annoy me about them. But I'm also pretty circumspect about it - like I know that there are plenty of things I do and say that must annoy people, blah blah blah, that's how the world works, no one is going to be happy with everyone else all the time. And my feelings of dislike fade in and out.

Also, I hold grudges against people I would also defend to my last breath. It's probably not healthy, but cognitive dissonance is apparently how I work.

I've never met anyone I've hated yet. However, I tend towards apathy rather strongly, and no-one has ever hurt me majorly yet. It's more than no-one yet has ever done anything bad enough and personal enough to make me do more than remove myself and forget they exist.

There are people who I really disliked but no one I actively hate. They'd have to do something to me/friends/family to hate someone. I abstractly hate people like child molesters, rapists, murderers, etc. just for being evil people.

I didn't know what hatred felt like, until I had to live with a particularly awful roommate. To date I'd say that's my only experience, so it's not an easy thing to achieve. Pretty much someone has to piss me off on a daily basis for a long length of time for it to occur.

I can put it this way: Out of all the regular posters here on F!S, including journals and recognizable anons, there's exactly one who I hate. That's about how easy it is.

Not easy at all. I'm far too use to trying to see something from other people's perspectives, so whether I succeed in doing so or not, I end up sympathizing with just about everyone on some level, so it's very difficult for me to actively and truly hate someone. Not impossible, just difficult.

I've learned the hard way not to admit this, though, especially to certain subsets of fandom populations and friends in real life, so I tend to pretend to be a little more hateful than I actually am in certain situations entirely out of habit, even when it's really not necessary.

I don't usually HATE people so much as harbor a serious dislike. There has only ever been one person online who has ever driven me to block them from all websites where they try to contact me. This is because they won't keep a fucking clue in their head that I. Do. Not. Want. To. Associate. With. Them.

A quick way to make me not like you is to disrespect me. If I draw a line and say leave me alone and you don't leave me alone after two warnings, you're out on strike three and I will block you.

I deliberately make it pretty hard for me to hate people. I've learned that anger isn't a luxury I can afford, most of the time.
