LPer recs?

(Anonymous) 2014-03-30 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
New to Let's Plays, looking into watching them because of games I wish I could play but can't. Bioshock, Fallout, Mass Effect, and Portal series, and any other less well-known plotty games. Anyone has recs? Not into anyone who exclaims every other minute. Also, all I'm sure of is I dislike pewds & co.

supergreatfriend does really great ones, I keep going back to his Deadly Premonition LP. The D/D2 one is awesome too, despite those not exactly being high-quality games. He's quiet when he needs to be, and pipes up with interesting facts about the game or the people behind it in the downtime. Plus, he has a voice that I find oddly soothing.

They don't play the specific games you've mentioned, but I'm still gonna rec Chip Cheezum & General Ironicus. Very high quality in both play and commentary, are actually funny (and informative), and you (usually) get a choice between if they commentate over cutscenes or not. If you're interested in Metal Gear or Uncharted, they're who I'd rec first. Their other LPs are all really great too (I especially liked Megaman Legends, but I just. like Megaman Legends in general)

Here's their youtube channel. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtKcVd4QbAJRFq-PIf22u7g
