It really is kind of sad - I really liked those two as a couple. But it would only get censored in the western releases, anyway.

What western releases?

Well it would probably get released in other countries as well and we all know what happened the last time (cousins and genderbending to make it het and all).

If it's a online stream like the news sites have been saying, it won't be censored, just subtitled. Which I'm really hoping is the case!

It's a whole different game now, though. I wouldn't despair quite yet.

Well, they weren't a couple in the manga, if I recall correctly, and people think this new anime is going to follow the manga more closely. I can see why the OP thinks it might not happen.

I saw a post saying they were going to keep all the queer relationships intact for the new series. I have no idea if it true or not, because tumblr isn't the most reliable source, so take it with a huge grain of salt.

Yeah, that doesn't sound as much like an official statement as it does Tumblr wishful thinking. Especially since several relationships (this one included) were anime-only. We'll probably get more fleshed-out characters than in the manga, but who knows if they'll be together in this one, too.

Basically all they've said so far is that they're adapting the first arc of the manga. Either than that there's no other information on it.

Wishful thinking on tumblr's part. They were an anime-only thing, and I highly doubt they're going to even think about making the characters gay again for representation purposes. Japan does have a different view on homosexuality than the west does.

That would be nice if they did make them a couple once more. Although would they make Zoisite a girl again in the English dub?

Yeah, honestly, the "truer to the manga" thing bums me out more than excites me, given some of the good stuff that was only in the anime. These two; and I think the storyline with Nephrite falling in love with Naru, and dying to save her, is anime-only as well. And my beloved Fish Eye will only get a little screen time before he gets killed off.

Man, if ever there were a group of anime villains deserving of their own spin-off show, it's the Amazon Trio. I love those three so much, horrendous fashion choices and all.

I like the manga fine (though I haven't finished reading it yet, whoops), but I think the anime definitely did a better job of fleshing out the villains. I love the Shitennou and the Amazon Trio so much, but it's all because of the anime, not the manga.

This. Being truer to the manga is fine, but I'd love it if they kept that same care and attention to the villains.

I always preferred the anime's portrayal of villains, all the way up to the Stars season.

I'm going to go against the grain here and admit they I didn't really care for their relationship in the first anime. It was so stereotypical and Zoisite's characterization in the was cringeworthy. I'm really hoping that Sailor Moon Crystal won't have them in a relationship. Mostly I doubt they'll portray the relationship any better than the first anime did.

I hope that Zoisite will be fleshed out differently.

I hope they aren't. Kunzite and Minako were so cute together in those flashbacks they had, I hope the new anime keeps them.

Minako needs so much more love this time around, especially when the series hits America. Not sure how they adopted her in other countries, but geeze, they cut out her main background episode in the first season! Also, she was such a badass in the manga (which I'm super excited about!)
