Re: Most ridiculous "trigger warnings"?

Not OP, but I like to be told about character death in fanfiction. I don't usually care about other media, but when I read fic I'm usually just in the mood to read fluffy or happy stuff, so I like to know to avoid anything else. But I definitely don't think it warrants a trigger warning. And I wouldn't hate on anyone who didn't warn for character death. They might not want to give spoilers for the plot.

Not OP either, but I agree with this. I'm not going to throw a fit if someone doesn't warn for character death, but I sure as heck appreciate it, because I hate reading fic with it. Doesn't bother me overly much in canon work, but if I'm reading fic, I'm usually not in the mood.

Yeah, fanfic different from general media for me. I'm not interested in death in fic.

Same here. I'm down with drama, difficulties, danger, all that but at the end of the road, I want the characters to survive to play another day. I've read good deathfic but I'm not interested in a general sense.

agree. not a trigger, woudn't resent anyone for not warning, but in fanfic, something I definitely appreciate knowing about in advance. Other media is what it is, but I go to fanfic for a lot of reasons, and sometimes it's because I want to cheer myself up with happy fluff or sexy fun. It's nice to be able to scroll past obvious downers when I'm in that frame of mind.
