Honestly I think the original stuff from back in the 60s was probably when the comm was at its peak

Ngl, depression and drugs really added to the comm's creativity.

Still trying to figure that out. I don't hate the comm as it is now or anything, but I don't like the general vibe/tone as much as I used to, and I've been skimming past secrets trying to figure out when exactly that sweet spot was.

The secrets interest me a lot less than they used to, but I'm not sure if it's because it's just that I've seen them so many times it's just not interesting or they've actually gotten less interesting.

I find that most of them aren't for fandoms I care about anymore. I don't know if I'm just in really calm fandoms now, or what. I still like the GC section, though

same here. Most of them are for the same huge fandoms I'm tired of seeing and not involved in. Most of my current fandoms are a bit old and their heydays are over so no chance of seeing secrets for them.

Same. Not sure if it's just an issue of where I am in life rather than a definite change in FS, but either way it's not exactly the wonderful fun pasttime it was for me. It's not bad now, just not that sweet spot as you say.

Hmm...now? Not necessarily saying the secrets are better than they've ever been (I feel like I've seen it all before tbh, but I still enjoy reading them), but I've never been overtly active in f!s before the past two years or whatever, and I def love general comments and the people who frequent this place.

Hm, I liked how busy and varied it was way back in the day but then it was also chaotic, without dedicated secret comment threads and just kind of a mess to navigate. Still it was a lot of fun. Then also a year or two, not sure the time but when we first got the General Comments section, that was a really fun time.

Hmm... Secrets-wise probably around the time I first started coming to f!s (about a year after it started), but community-wise? Now. I like the people here, and discussions, now better.

Though I do sometimes wonder what some of the old regulars are up to/kinda miss them.

I still love fs but I definitely preferred it a few years back when we were on lj but after we started having actual threads for each specific secret (remember when we all put the secret number we were referring to in the subject line and had to ctrl+f to find people discussing the secret we wanted to talk about? Holy fuck, how did we live like that? I remember there was a day a couple of years or so after we started doing the threads thing where lj was so laggy that case didn't post the threads and everyone went nuts). There was a lot of good wank back then. Plus, I miss a lot of the people from old fs that stopped posting

I like it as it is now, because there's a solid group of decent folks. It was more frenetic years ago, and that was definitely fun; I sometimes miss the wank and the epic trolls (I think chixb4dix, or however it was spelled, was the last truly awesome troll). But now, there's a group that's somewhat cohesive, and there are people you can really talk to.

I don't really come here for the fandom aspect anymore. I come here for the community, and that's really cool to me.

While I miss the overall anarchic tone of 2010/2011, I don't necessarily want to go back to that.

At least my hatedom keeps things interesting.

Well they suck and are stupid, and I'm pretty sure they also comprise a very small minority.

Regardless, you should post your music thread because it's good. And even if it wasn't good, it's you, and you should do you (as trite as that sounds. It's generally good policy, even so).
