IIRC, didn't DeConnick or Fraction say something awhile back about the idea of rebooting with a new storyline or team change being a way to help keep the book accessible to new readers? Less of the intimidating "there are 100 back issues!" and more of "Here's a new story. Start here!" (It might've been Gillen who said it. Can't remember.)

Atomic Robo does it and it works pretty nice for them. Their books are always easy to jump on.

So Carol had a big dramatic story, some cross-over fun, little break, and started up again. It's not a reboot-reboot, where Everything Is Different.
