And, if I remember correctly, Free! was made because slash fans gave such a positive response to the shirtless, slashy promotional pictures they sent out before the anime got the green light...

It takes more than a few months to make an animated series.

Also that's kind of Kyoani's thing to make a 30 promo for their upcoming series. KnK also got one.
