I think it's a nice change of pace. I ended up following a manga that had a man raise a child from when she was a baby, and then bam, he gets her pregnant when she's fifteen and he's thirty something. Ha. Ha. No thanks. Ruined the series for me.

For some reason the first time I read it I was convinced that Yuka was 19 when she's pregnant. I don't know why I thought so and was shocked when they said she was 17. Not to mention Nobara at the end...

But Usagi Dropped was so creepy because the readers spend several volumes reading about a man raising a girl, him being a father figure for her, and then she wants to have babies with him. It wasn't gross because of the age gap but because you were supposed to be reading a story about a family bond and in in the end it was about lovers.

Ah, yes, that does sound a bit much... I just get easily fed up with that whole will-they-won't-they thing when it's dragged out for a long time -- I guess I've read too much shoujo manga and seen too much Korean drama, haha.
