It's a world in which werewolves are known and have all the power. Humans can be body slaves and while there are people who don't like the status quo, most humans aren't slaves and don't think about it. Through a series of circumstances including Peter biting Scott against his will and Stiles trying to rescue Scott from the Hale compound, they both become Derek's body slaves.

Except they're only slaves in public because Derek doesn't believe in slavery and no one knows Scott's a werewolf. They all work to get slavery abolished while Derek and Stiles get together as more than master and slave.
