(Anonymous) 2014-04-02 06:50 am (UTC)(link)Is the very existence of the word retarded offensive to some people? Absolutely, but that doesn't make it a word that nobody should be allowed to say it ever in any circumstances regardless of the context.
You have to be so god damn simple and see the world in such an incredibly black and white way to think that's the most appropriate way to deal with an offensive word. Just fucking let it dilute and change meaning over time, trying to fight the progression of language is just going to do more harm than good.
