Eh, some are. Just like every other group there are some bad apples but in the time I've been in the furry fandom [12-13 years] the majority are actually pretty cool people.

My main hangout was Fur Affinity, which I understand a lot of furries look down on. (I spent a little time on Inkbunny, and they seemed more chill, if a bit creepy at times.)

I remember when that place first opened up, it was around the cub-porn ban on FA and they flocked to it in droves

the tagging system failed and it was just pedo art everywhere

That's not the impression I got from it. I thought OP was saying that the furries who are assholes are a special kind of asshole, not that all furries (or even most/many) are assholes.

And I'm not in furry fandom so I have a somewhat at least objective POV.
