Dude, I've seen the same level of that IF NOT MORE in other fandoms. Hell JKR got death threats from entitled people about her epilogue choices. Because they were the entitled types who were all "my HP ship NUU mah childhood is ruined". I actually LEFT a forum once because of seeing gross sexist shit said about the author because of canon they didn't agree with.
