Yeah, that sounds like scifi / dystopian scifi to me. Or fantasy, but the use of "psi" makes me think scifi.

Unfortunately it looks like I'll have to be thinking about how my work can fit into a genre when I start querying agents. I would much rather ignore it and write between genres (which I already tend to do because I write for a late teens/early twenties audience). I do not like marketing.

Oohh . I don't know how to feel about that because on the one hand it sounds cool, but on the other ...well I worry people will think I'm just trying to follow a trend (though there is fantasy- there's a magic using community and a major antagonist who dabbles in dark magic.)

*nod* I'm not fond of the whole marketing "fit it in with what's selling" mindset.
