The description reads like a modern take on 'Firestarter', to me. I even thought that little girl in the picture was wee!Drew Barrymore, for a moment.

I honestly haven't read or seen that one, admittedly, so I'll take your word for it! :D

I liked that one quite a bit, book and movie. Carrie, Firestarter, Dead Zone, those are my favorites, and The Stand sort of...hovering around, because i like it and don't like it in equal measure. The rest of his stuff i can pretty much live without.

[personal profile] loracarol 2014-04-05 09:17 pm (UTC)(link)
I haven't seen any of his movies, I've only read Carrie, so I'll def. keep those in mind when it comes to watching/reading Stephen King! :D

...Which is probably not going to happen any time recently.

At least, not until I have a roommate that's not a cat. >_>;

Heee! Um. What does a cat have to do with it?

The books are *always* better than the movies, though the movies have their own special moments. The original Carrie is the only one i've ever seen.

Oh, and - Pet Semetary scared the stuffing out of me, both book and movie, and i will never, *ever*, ever watch The Shining again. Ever. *
*shudders*

*Probably more because of the visuals than because he wrote something epically scary, but yeah...skeery.

The cat has to do with the fact that I'm home alone and he's the perfect fodder for an accidental real life jump scare. |D Also, he can't help me talk my self out of being too freaked out from what I'm reading... ^^;

....Definitely waiting, then. I need people around me so I don't start seeing scary things everywhere.

...I'm kind of a whimp. |D

Aaahhhh....
See, having cats always makes me feel *better*. If i have to go down into the horrible, horrible basement when all the lights are out and i'm alone, then if the cats are with me or the dog, i know it's all good, because they would react negatively to any 'thing' in the basement.

If they won't go down there, i won't go down there.

(I'm pretty wimpy, too, really - i can freak myself out pretty good with the right book or movie, so i tend to read/watch scary stuff only during the day and when i know i won't be alone.)
loracarol: (spg)

[personal profile] loracarol 2014-04-05 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, my cat *does* make me feel better, but I don't want to press my luck. |D
tabaqui: (Default)

[personal profile] tabaqui 2014-04-05 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Heeee.

The only time my cats have ever freaked me out is when i'm going downstairs with a big basket full of laundry and the little *morons* run down in front of me and make me trip over them. Holy gods, talk about your heart pounding out of your chest.

They don't ever sneak around and pounce out at us, though - they're too lazy for that.
loracarol: (spg)

[personal profile] loracarol 2014-04-05 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
My cat is a dark gray color, and I don't have a lot of lights in my house. I'm always afraid of him at night, because I'm always afraid that I'm going to get scared by him or I'm going to kick him. |D

[personal profile] tabaqui 2014-04-05 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
OH, man. The cat-owner's dance. I do it. Step on *anything*, and you leap around like a moron, hoping like hell you didn't just squish the cat. Heh.
loracarol: (spg)

[personal profile] loracarol 2014-04-05 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeeeeaaap. And then my cat is a doorway lurker, which adds another layer of "oh shit". |D

[personal profile] tabaqui 2014-04-05 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Mine like to either sprawl on me/my desk, or sprawl around in the livingroom. They're pretty nosy and like to hang out.

They have been stepped on/kicked a couple times, though, jeez. Always sucks - not only do you feel like you're having a heart attack, but you also have this crushing guilt, heh.

I accidentally grabbed my cat's tail once. D: His face was the saddest thing...

[personal profile] tabaqui 2014-04-05 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Heeee. Mine always look at me with this horrified betrayal....

OMG FLUFFY. :D

I've been posting my cat's pics to instagram... I wasn't actually using it for anything else. |D

Heee! He is. He weighs about 6 pounds under all that.

Aww! What a pretty cat - looks like a Russian Blue!
loracarol: (spg)

[personal profile] loracarol 2014-04-06 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
Really? My goodness! I was expecting he'd weight more. ^_^

That's what I think he is, but we don't know for sure; I adopted him from a vets office, so we can only guess. :D
tabaqui: (Default)

[personal profile] tabaqui 2014-04-06 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, he's all fluff. Now Jack, he weighs like - 15 pounds or something, he's *heavy*.

Our pear-shaped fat-cat. :)
loracarol: (spg)

[personal profile] loracarol 2014-04-06 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
Oh goodness! That sounds kind of adorable~
tabaqui: (Default)

[personal profile] tabaqui 2014-04-06 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
He's an incredible goober, but we luff him. He comes into the bed and gets under the covers with me and lays his head on my pillow. :)
loracarol: (spg)

[personal profile] loracarol 2014-04-06 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
Awwwww, that's adorable! My cat won't get under covers, but he likes to sleep on my bed. Sometimes he tries to sleep on me, by I move around too much, and he doesn't like that... |D
tabaqui: (Default)

[personal profile] tabaqui 2014-04-06 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
Jack loves to get under the covers, but only for an hour or so, then he's off. Conversely, he also likes to lay on my pillow, half on my head, and bite my hair. Oliver climbs under sometimes when nobody is around, and is just this lump down near the foot, but he won't do it if we're in bed.

Jack is super-affectionate, and loves people - he'll let anybody pet him, even little kids. Oliver does *not* like other people at all. They're so different, and yet - they're buddies. :)
