yessssssss

I am completely going to start doing this. Put "Ashoken Farewell" on Youtube and imagine everything being read in an old-timey voice. It's going to happen.

Do you remember that David Attenborough secret about sex? That was a great one :D The thread was marvellous, too.

I tend to backbutton immediately when fics annoy me, but sepia toned photography and old timey narration is a far more imaginative solution.

Hmm sounds like fun, OP! I think I would like this thing. Maybe next time I read something wrong I will use this idea from you.

This is simply the best. Everything about this is the best.

(Anonymous) 2014-04-05 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
I 1,000,000% agree!

I think I have now found a way to get my mom to read fanfic (she's on her umpteenth rewatch of the Civil War).

I had no idea who this dude was, so I googled it and now I can't stop laughing. Well played, OP.

That's an excellent idea!

Personally I use the Delete button, but this seems like a much more creative and positive way to get over the trauma of bad fanfiction... To be fair, I am easily traumatized by bad fic, spelling mistakes included: just reading 'loose' instead of 'lose' grates on my nerves something terrible and don't even get me started on 'reign' vs. 'rein'!

I mention this because there seems to be a surprising amount of correlation between stories full of spelling and grammatical errors and bad stories, with unrealistic characterization, no plot, wooden dialog, over-exposition and over-the-top porn or a random combination thereof...
