Re: Questions there's never a good time to ask.

I don't know about other religions, but according to the Christian Bible you won't actually be still married in the afterlife:

I'm not sure how that affects views on adultery, though. I'm not sure I've even seen it acknowledge much, though it's in the Bible. So I don't know.

I do know, though, that when my family first heard this particular passage in Church, our first thought was the same across the board: Thank god, the poor woman can finally get a break in Heaven.

Interestingly, my super-duper-conservative friend thinks everybody will be married in the afterlife, including people who were single on Earth. (I do not think I agree, since not everyone wants to be married; part of her justification was the whole "man was not meant to be alone" thing and I think she just has a very narrow idea of people and her worldview doesn't include people who don't want a traditional heterosexual marriage in their heart of hearts.) I asked her how she felt about widow(er)s remarrying, and she said she thought it was fine. I'm not sure how she reconciles those though.

For me, I have no idea what our relationships will be like in Heaven, but I trust that they will be good ones.

Like I said ("I'm not sure how she reconciles that") I have no idea. I didn't ask her - it wasn't worth getting into it with her.
