Re: Questions there's never a good time to ask.
(Anonymous) 2014-04-06 12:21 am (UTC)(link)I hear you on the so-called Christians who never crack the pages of their Bible, though; I was on a thread on r/Christianity today, and half of the posters were spending their time trying to debate with a Jewish poster and prove to him why/how Jesus was a rabbi, and the Jewish poster saying that was a dealbreaker for him b/c "Jesus was a bad rabbi."
I don't have a reddit account, and the thread was months old, but I just wanted to scream Matt 23:8! Repeatedly. As I read down through every single response that literally got nowhere, because they never paid attention to what Jesus said, and did, ever. So. Yeah.
As for finding a group that doesn't have issues, that can really be the trick sometimes. (Sorting the wheat from the chaff.) Though every group will have its issues. Just pray that God will place you where He can best use you. Even if you end up in a group that doesn't even remotely believe the same way you do. (I may or may not be in that situation right now.) Give your life to God, to use as He sees fit, and trust that you will the find the place where your life can preach best.
