Yes, it's incredibly annoying, isn't it?

As if we all have computers coming out of our ears. What mythical country is it where the goverment issues everyone with laptops so we can write fanfic for free? I want to move there.

Library, smartphone, and family shared computer are all plausible options.

Not everyone is fortunate enough to own their own personal laptop with unlimited internet access.

I can understand the convenience of a personal laptop, but why would anyone need unlimited internet access to write fic?

I had to share a computer with the rest of my family for years and I wrote plenty of fic on it, so you don't even need a personal computer.

I bought a computer specifically to write fanfic.

I participate in online fandom because I have a computer which I bought to write fanfic, and hence I can join in online fandom, not the other way around.

I don't know why this is so difficult to understand.
