Almost all 2D animation is either created using a direct-to-digital workflow or composited and edited using digital systems. Which makes almost all of it CGI.

I agree with you, and I'm surprised this doesn't seem to be universally understood, going by the above comment.

The film is digital, the editing is digital... even if every other process is non-digital, it's still computer generated by that alone.

My favourite animation method is stop motion, but I'd be kidding myself if I thought that was non-CGI these days.
