Actors you only find attractive in character...

I have realized that I find the Winter Soldier really hot. The thing is, I don't think Sebastian Stan is in any way good looking (something is just a bit off about his face). I didn't even find him attractive in the first movie. But as the Winter Soldier? I am all over that.

I think the same thing about Benedict Cumberbatch. I only find him attractive as Sherlock.

So what are some actors/actresses you only find attractive in a certain role they played?

Jason Isaacs is someone I only find attractive when he's in character with long hair (Lucius, Hook, Tavington). I also second Sebastian Stan.

Its the hair. Totally. I like men with long hair. Some men I like regardless, but some men I only like when they have hair I like.

Oh, Viggo Mortenson is only attractive as Aragorn.

I think for Sebastian Stan (for me) it is the mask. One of the things I don't like about him is how something about his face seems a bit off. The mask gets rid of that problem and the hotness spawned from there.

And totally agree about Viggo.

I never found Alan Rickman to be UNattractive, but he only really made me go 'rawr' in Sense and Sensibility. Same for Mark Strong in Emma, best Mr. Knightly ever.

I don't find Alan Rickman attractive at all unless I close my eyes and just listen. Because his voice is incredibly hot but I don't find him physically attractive.

Most actors I've found attractive have only been in character. /shrug

I think they way they try to present themselves irl is off-putting to me. They all try to look really plastic and pretty-boy.

Most of the time I do find the character more attractive, but it is fairly rare for me to find the actor not attractive at all.

The only time I ever found Jake Gyllenhaal attractive was in Prince of Persia. In that movie, he's just so unnngh for me but any other time he's just meh.

Really? I don't find him attractive all that much to be honest. The closest might be that one war movie he did. But maybe if I see Prince of Persia, I'll think differently.

I am much more likely to find a character attractive than the actual actor. But of course right now my brain is coming up blank. Dammit!

I find most actors attractive only when portraying a certain character. Maybe Matt Di Angelo most prominently. I wouldn't find him attractive if he weren't meek little baby Sean Kennedy.

I'm the same with Benedict Cumberbatch I think he looks a lot better with dark hair ala Sherlock, and Viggo Mortisen who I only find attractive as Aragon, he suited the long hair+scruff look very well.

Matthew McConnaughey in True Detective. I don't even like the show but it's the only thing I actually found him attractive in.

He's kind of hit or miss with me - as Bourne or Will Hunting, he was attractive, but most of his other roles leave me indifferent.

Alan Rickman is like that for me. If he has the darker longer hair thing going on, guh. Otherwise. i just think he's...cuteish? Plain? Even his sexy as voice doesn't always make the outward look hot.

Ten times agreed. On the Winter Soldier. Holy fucking shit. And PLEASE tell me I wasn't the only one who was silently thinking of some awesome hate!sex or something fic between him and Black Widow. That little smirk he had when she got him on the bridge was SO oozing with the possibilities of that for me~

I find him so incredibly, painfully unattractive in real life. He just seems so...I don't even know the words. Self-absorbed, idiotic? Kind of creepy? Anyhoo.

But he definitely has a tendency to look amazing onscreen.

Tom Hiddleston as Loki. Not that he's ugly out of costume, he just doesn't stand out to me. But LOKI... yes. <3

This may be largely because I'm predisposed to crush on portrayals of Loki, but the clothes are probably a factor. That and Loki's hair really makes his face look remarkable, whereas out-of-costume pictures I've seen just look average? (I could not think of a way to say that that wouldn't sound weird.)

Jesse Eisenberg as Mark Zuckerberg.

He basically looks the same, but I find the jerk personality very attractive.

Couldn't care less about Gwyneth Paltrow...but I am all over Pepper Potts. I don't find Benedict Cumberbatch very attractive. Now Sherlock or Khan on the other hand, I adore. I only liked Zach Quinto as Spock - 'as a human', I don't really find him attractive at all. And Jeremy Renner doesn't have a great face but he has a great everything else so I love that he is an action star - and that most of his movies seem to involve him ending up in short or no sleeves (or shirt) at one point or another.

And as hot as Stan is on his own, I definitely agree he was hotter in the movies - both as Bucky and as the Winter Soldier. I feel so guilty for how hot I found him when he was suffering/in pain in the movies...he just hurts so pretty! /creepy fangirling

Misha Collins, sorta kinda. He's just good at adopting specific sets of mannerisms that make his characters all look strikingly different from each other and from his real-life self, and I really like the ones he uses as Castiel.
