Holy crap, guys: Kate Mulgrew + Geocentrism

I didn't even know there were people who still believed that the sun revolved around the earth. But apparently, 25% of Americans do. And apparently, Janeway is one of them.

25 percent?! I can't believe that.

I don't believe that. It has to be them inflating numbers to push their agenda.

ayrt

I goddamn hope so.

Screw Kate Mulgrew - Michio Kaku and Lawrence Krauss are in it.Presumably there's something else going on here, because I can't see actual prominent credentialed physicists getting involved in a project if it was actually billed as a geocentric thing, rather than a much more general speculative popular physics project, and that's definitely the way it looks from the trailer, once you get past what looks like some rather deceptive editing (IE, lots of people talking about the anthropic principle being presented as though they're endorsing geocentrism).

Weird, weird, weird.

My honest hope is that they were duped. They were asked some questions, and told that their answers were going to be used in one thing, and now their answers are being used in something totally different.

I have less faith that this is the case for Mulgrew simply because she is narrating the doc itself.

Is this like when Ice T (or whoever it was) went in to read an audio book for D&D and had no idea what he had agreed to do but went through with it because a contract is a contract and a paycheck is a paycheck? Please tell me my captain does not actually believe what she is narrating. *sob*

She's also anti-choice, so I pretty much just side-eye whatever comes out of her mouth.

Someone can be pro-life and an intelligent person.

I don't think it's the intelligence of pro-lifers that's under question.

I'm just taking exception to the idea that since she's pro-life, it makes sense to "side eye" everything she does. There are more opinions than one, after all.

Abortion is a deeply personal ethical issue for many people. I mean, someone probably has more opinions than being a supporter of, I dunno, NAMBLA, but most wouldn't care to hear about them once hearing that one opinion.

I'm pretty firmly pro-choice but no, I'm not going to compare pro-life people to FUCKING PEDOPHILES, BECAUSE THAT IS CRAZY

Sigh. I wasn't comparing the two as related in any way, I was using an extreme example of a single opinion that, for many people, cancels out any other opinions a person might have. Since that's what the topic actually is, not the moral fiber of pro-lifers. My apologies for not making that clear.

Turns out she was misled and doesn't believe in it.
