I've been posting here enough that I figured I should just bite the bullet and actually register an account. If you've been posting about Star Trek or Sherlock Holmes there's a good chance I've talked to you. Or sci-fi in general, or... a bunch of other stuff, I guess. Kind of! But also not really!

It's apparently a bit of Gaelic or pidgin Gaelic meaning "darling", and it's used as a random interjection in the 40s comic strip Barnaby which is where I heard of it, but mostly I just think it's a funny word.

I don't know, Vespasian is more just a name that I kind of stumbled into randomly, and while the idea of pretending to be a long-dead Roman emperor does have its appeal, there's a limit to that kind of thing I guess. Sorry for being confusing!
