13. I'd say the FFVII fandom is less wanky than people think it is, but hey, I'm a biased source of information right here. Yeah, it's been super wanky in the past, and it's still wanky. But to answer your question, we could be a worse bunch of whiny kids with sticks up our asses - we could be the KH or the HP fandom. xD Sorry, couldn't resist.

43. Yeah, I think I know what you mean. xD I'm wondering if the same will happen with BBS. That would make me sad. I think half of what I liked about the original KH was that I came in with no good expectations - I really only expected a halfassed disney game with Cloud in it somewhere, and found myself pleasantly surprised as a result.

On one hand, I sort of don't mind if I'm making Jacen cry, but I did like Anakin.

But this is the EU we're talking about. The place where the writers have an ongoing competition of who can make the biggest and most annoying superweapon. Or who can tear down someone else's ship and put their own OC there.

It's like Fanfiction.net or something, seriously. Maybe a little better written at points, but about as coherent overall.

It-- it's true though. A lot of the EU is awful. And yet I can't even make generalisations when saying why. I mean, for instance, Kevin J. Anderson? Terrible writer, mildly annoying person, definitely goes too far with the "lol superweapons!" thing. But, Kyp! He's cool. And then Stackpole, CORRAN HAHAHA, but he also came up with Mirax and Tycho.

But parts of it are good! And sometimes, the characters are amazing (like Anakin, and Wes Janson, etc etc), and I've always been a character-driven fan. ♥

Oh wow, are you someone who doesn't dislike Kyp? *_* I've always felt a little weird for liking him, because I KJA's books , and despite the fact that it seems to me that no one seems to give him the most consistant character development, I just find him kind of cute. xD

Getting back into reading the newer books has always been on the to-do list, but I just always end up reading something else instead.

KYP IS AMAZING. I used to be a diehard Kyp/Jaina fan (lol njo) before I stopped being, y'know, sixteen, but I still love him, and have done since reading the Jedi Academy trilogy. I wish he was in LotF more, but then again, if he was, he'd just be another member of Jaina's harem.

I love the KH fandom, but oh man, there are days when I just stare and shake my head. Though, to tell the truth, I think I'd still be doing the same to the FFVII fandom if I hadn't found great writers for the pairings/characters I love.

Yeah, I agree. And about BBS... It's not the same, it really isn't. We're not getting the same crazy cool stuff that we got with Deep Dive. There was an entire online community devoted to Deep Dive alone and taking it apart, frame by frame.

Maybe I'm just jaded...?

Also, KHII made the fandom WANKY. Not that I don't love the Org - I do! - but the fangirl wank around them is godawful. *sigh*

You're right. I haven't seen much speculation yet - I've seen as much Terra/Ven fic as I've seen theories. And that just... I mean, lol whut?

But I guess I think that there's still time before it comes out for people to go apeshit. Maybe. Or maybe everyone really doesn't want to do the same as they did with KH2.
