It's the hypocrisy of the secret that pisses me off, not the content. Can't speak for Perversa, but...

'This that happened to ME!!!!' is unacceptable, while 'That that never happened to me!' is okay? THAT is messed up.

Yeah. I'm not the OP, but I just don't get why someone would bitch about the hypocrisy, then say horrible and offensive things too. I think Perversa needs to get her head screwed on a little better if she thinks it's logical to be horribly offensive when bitching about offensive statements that bitch about offensive statements.

I mean, if you dislike the OP's secret because two wrongs don't make a right, Perversa's third wrong doesn't either. Maybe she mistook wrongs for lefts - it's three of those that make a right.

I'm not going to take sides ~~aside from the hypotenuse, maybe?~~, but I kind of think the whole rape/death by toaster-in-rectum joke thing is... okay. (To be completely technical, also, I sincerely doubt that death by toaster + rectum + bathtub = common as rape and baby deaths. I kind of even wonder if it's ever actually happened.)

It's so ridiculous- I mean, come on. The guy wears orange and is a glorified chunk of data. The toaster would not fit and if you had one up your rear, you wouldn't be doing anything, let alone drawing a bath. Both are absurd, totally absurd- this character is 10000000% incapable of raping somebody. That toaster is 10000000% incapable of getting into your rectum. It'll never happen. There are a lot of things we joke about because they're impossible and silly and weird- I think data raping people and toasters in rectums falls quite nicely into that category.

That said, I myself found the prescribed method of instilling anti-hypocrite software to be rather... descriptive.

Oh, yes, well, let's joke about rape and painful deaths because they won't happen, then - as long as it's improbable, it's hilarious!! Rape-via-game character and painful deaths are impossible, after all. Dead babies, on the other hand? Everywhere you look! Sacred ground!

.......Don't defend one thing and attack the other. Be constant and hate them all, or accept all as very poor attempts at satire. A bad joke about dead babies isn't any worse than a joke about an improbable rape or death.

Uh.... wtf? I never said anything about actual rape OR actual deaths- the point here is, the things being satirized- which you obviously find unfunny, which is fine- are ridiculous and specifically so. I see nobody making general jokes about actual, probable rape, or actual, probable painful deaths, and quite frankly I hope I never do (and because of that I always find the common 'DIAF' response from some comms very jarring).

I'm not attacking any joke, by the way- I was simply pointing out the hypocrisy of wanking about your own personal issues and declaring that the world should be mindful of them- and then totally ignoring a huge landmine of issues for other people.

And the OP never said anything about actual dead babies, either. You're taking a stand against her idea of a joke by claiming that your jokes are better because they are less realistic - that, my dear, is hypocrisy. I love satire, but judging jokes on a scale of how likely they are to happen is idiotic. As mentioned, I thought the secret was fairly tongue-in-cheek in terms of the dead baby joke. Assuming that was the poster's intent, retaliating with threats of improbable violence is more pathetic than anything else.

I personally agree with most of what the anon said--and find your condescending attitude towards him/her rather pathetic. Just because he/she didn't agree with you doesn't mean that he/she is less worthy than you--don't you agree?

I apologised. I said I was sorry. I meant it. I still do. But you know what? I don't think that will ever be good enough for you. And I'm sorry that it is.

If you have issues or anger towards me, don't channel it through some poorly-executed, hypocritical fandomsecret. Be direct and defriend me. Speak to me. I know that I'm sick of your wishy-washy, non-confrontational attitude to me. Be bold and strong enough to say what the hell is actually bothering you. And you know what? Even if you and I defriend, even if you hate me, for whatever reason, no matter what you say to me, know that I'll always think of you and care about you, and hold you dear in my heart.

Seriously? Do you find them funny? THEN THEY ARE. If not? AVOID THEM. THEY ARE UNFUNNY.

I think they're funny. If you don't, that's fine. It's the "one kind of morbid joke is really funny but this other kind is OMG PERSONALLY OFFENSIVE AND THEREFORE UNCLASSY" that I have a problem with.

I do agree with that--note the words "poor attempt." But it hadn't actually occurred to me that it was a super-offensive statement until finding these comments, you know? Again, it's the reading--I read the phrasing as a joke, so never took it seriously--you did, and do. *shrug*
