The third book in the 'Raven Boys' series will (hopefully) be out in October.

God, what will I do until then?

I still haven't finished the first book. I need to get it from the library (again).

The first book ripped my heart out of my chest, danced an Irish jig, patched it back together with duct tape, and stuck it back in my heart. It was a very traumatic experience.

I told everybody I know that they should read it. It's not fair that I suffer at the hands of a library book and everybody just carries on like nothing happened. I want others to suffer with me.

...is it better than her other books? I heard great things about her werewolf series, and I'm hearing great things about Raven Boys, and it may be she just doesn't "click" for me, but I'd like to ask someone who's actually read it. ;)

I liked it better than the werewolf series, but not as much as the Scorpio Races. But it made me feel (the whole ripping my heart out of my chest, stomping on it, etc. thing above) and that's always a way to my love. And my money.

You might want to try the library first. Give it a shot for free before forking over any money.

Thanks! Actually, I've gotten her work from the library (I love my library so; they have an astonishingly good SFF/YA selection), but I have a terribly long TBR list, and it's more about prioritizing stuff I think I'll like. If it's better than the werewolf books, I'll definitely give it a try. I just heard so much hype about those and then they were (IMO) relatively same-y to the other YA werewolf fiction I'd read. (Rhiannon Held did much better IMO.)

The first werewolf book was fine, but she didn't have enough story to keep the momentum going for the next two books.

My library is great too! I can walk there from my office and the YA librarian is great. She and I talk about YA and writing workshops.
