I need details. Badly. Looks like I missed a good bit of fanwank.

I think they're talking about that QA panel where the emcee unexpectedly tried to get BC and MF to read aloud some slashy fanfic dialog and made the entire panel uncomfortable, BC especially so. He said something along the lines that fans can do what they want but that thinking Sherlock would actually go for John was "luuuuuuuuuuuuuudicrous" and that "his nibs won't do that."

Although I don't think that BC would flat-out refuse to play Sherlock gay if Mofftiss actually wrote it like that (he's a professional after all).

About BC

Yeah, I don't think he'd have anything against playing a gay character.
He's going to play Alan Turing in some documentary type thing and I've heard he's also doing a Brian Epstein bioptic

If you're playing a character and have a strong sense of him/her in your head, and someone says, "That character is (gay/straight/bi/trans)..." it would be perfectly natural to say, "No, they're not!" because you know the character's innermost thoughts and feelings, you are the character. It wouldn't reveal anything about your general attitudes towards gay/straight/bi/trams people.

(In a similar way, I often find myself thinking that other peoples' takes on Legolas or Draco Malfoy are 'wrong' because I spend so much time in (my version of) their heads, I start to think I am them).

Trans not trams! Sorry.

Don't be silly, you can often see me rolling down the street on specially-laid tracks!

He was quoted as saying "Sherlock and John are just good friends - Jesus!" at some panel he did recently.
