It is difficult! I did know about one character's death going in but it's already happened so at this point I'm actually not spoiled on anything coming up. I don't know how I managed that, especially considering how many TV sites I go on pretty regularly.

I'm debating now whether to start reading the books or not. I really want to but I know they'll spoil lots of stuff. I've heard that S4 is going to be really different from the books though so maybe once I finish S3 I'll start reading them...

I've been watching it on DVD, one disc at a time, by post. On the very first episode of the DVD commentaries for series one, one of the actresses spoiled the huge character death at the end of series! I still can't believe that a) she did that on the commentaries for THE VERY FIRST EPISODE and b) they didn't edit it out.

That's probably the spoiler you're talking about too. :(

I've been spoiled rotten for certain events in series 3 and 4 (marriages and deaths, mostly) and I was trying to avoid it so hard.

Wow, on the first episode? That's crazy! You'd think they'd be more careful about things like that.

If it's any consolation, most of those are still pretty moving even if you're spoiled going in. I've read the book series, so anything not changed for the show is something I already know is going to happen, but most of the big moments are well-acted enough that you still get the suspense and heartache.
