Iiiiii completely understand you, OP. I tend to find her screen presence incredibly grating and shrill, so when she first got cast as Pepper I was just like "UGHHHHH, WHYYYYY." But....to my shock, she actually managed to transcend that, for me. I'd always thought the Royal Tenenbaums was a fluke, but it turned out that she is actually capable of not annoying me in more than just that one role. I think she's really warm and lovely as Pepper, and it's probably partially the banter they give her to shoot back and forth with RDJ (who is actually magic), but somehow I think it works. And it's not like I generally like her now! I still tend to dislike her performances in other things! Pepper is just awesome.
