With Breaking Benjamin specifically, I don't think of them as great listening music so much as great AMV music. There was a while when the Fullmetal Alchemist fandom was making a lot of AMVs with their stuff. On their own, I just thought of the songs as okay, but they always combined really well with the videos. (This seems to be a Breaking Benjamin thing in general rather than a specific interaction with FMA--I've seen good AMVs with their music for a lot of different action shows.)
