Lyndis is correct: that was exactly what I'd meant. Perhaps I should have been more clear?

Anyway, by friend I meant a "trusted person" who will be upfront with OP about some changes that could be made. A friend who is also a fan of the canon would be best since they could point out possible oversights specific to the characters or canon.

I'm guessing since only one person felt the need to bash OP's story publicly (on tumblr), the issue isn't solely with OP's actual work. This especially considering how much terribly written shit is posted on ff.net rarely receives any public ridicule. I feel like this is an instance where someone's butt was chafed by the story, not how it was written.
