...What? You realize that the adult women of now were the young girls of decades past, and they WERE the target demographic back then, when MLP was also popular.

Adult women into it now are almost certainly in it for the nostalgia as much as being charmed by an inoffensive show about talking ponies with catchy songs.

Bronies...not so much.

lol i had a few my little pony ponies back in the 1980s, was envious of girls who had dozens of those things, and i still think MLP friendship whatever is unwatchable. at least jem nostalgia makes sense. i can see how an adult can get through an entire episode of jem without wanting to poke their eyes out.

I disagree. Maybe the Jem remake will be different but the original Jem was extremely preachy and was very obviously a product to make money off of the hairband/punk pop trends of the 80s. That's why I hated it as a child. It's kind of funny to laugh at now but I don't entirely understand the nostalgia for it, it wasn't the most popular thing in my area at all.

MLP was a bit more innocent fun and I loved being taken to fantasy worlds. I still do love being taken to fantasy worlds except now my fantasy worlds are more adult. I think friendship is magic is cute, it brings the nostalgia and has cute humor. It's not something I MUST watch all the time and I don't get involved in the fandom, but I can see why people got into it.

I never liked Jem, she was just Barbie with bad music.

Because boys are not allowed to like girl things?
