I'd like to say I'm a little surprised there isn't more Nick/Natasha going on after Cap 2 but... well. >.>

I'm not typically one to shy away from pairings on the basis of their feeling too familial to me--heck, I ship a number of actualfax incest pairings--but I did get a really strong father figure vibe from how Natasha interacted with Nick. Add that to her identity issues and her general air of (well-managed, but still very much there) vulnerability in CA2, and this made the idea of shipping them more than a tad uncomfortable for me.

Otoh, now that Nick's no longer Maria Hill's direct superior at SHIELD, I'm shipping the two of them like burning. (Completed, post-Winter Soldier fics featuring this pairing: 0, goddammit.) And I've always loved Nick/Steve, but even more so after this film. But you know there's basically no chance of that pairing getting any attention when people--including me, ngl--are so busy shipping Steve with Bucky and/or Natasha and/or Sam. :-(
