I have actually met enough people with cruel or shitty relatives lately that I'm more neutral. Like I can tell when someone's just being a brat but sometimes I'm kinda "ehh" when reading parents actions. I've also through my own experience sometimes started to see that there's a HUGE difference between imperfect parents who are wrong sometimes and actually abusive parents (mine are the former). I don't immediately jump to "omg your parents are abusive and you gotta get out of there" just off of one thing- but usually after a pattern of behavior that points to parents who just don't care or rely on abusive techniques.

I'm sorry your parents are abusive and I hope you find some people who will believe you. *hug*
