I really want to know how people who really want to write smut about TLM headcanon reproductive organs for merpeople.

I didn't really think about it until someone posted a link to disneykink and I found one fic that had them be similar to dolphins.

The only TLM smut I've read had mermaids as egg-layers. But Ariel was now human, so she and Eric had a very confusing wedding night.

In non-TLM stuff, there's a story called "The Mermaid's Mouth" on Literotica in which mermaids reproduce orally, and TV Tropes claims the mermaids in something call "Boobs Ahoy" have their genitals in their navels. There's also the "Bogleech" approach: mermaids infest men with chestbursters. (This is nowhere near the most disturbing thing in that comic.) And finally, "Curvy" avoids the whole thing by having a merman use a strapon.

I kinda want to read that - the dynamics of changing reproductive systems right before having first-time sex with your One True Love sounds really interesting. Do you have a link by chance?

I got to it from TV Tropes' fanfic recs before they did a mass purge of all the reced fics with sex in them. It's not on the rec list anymore, and I don't remember the title. Sorry. (I think it was on fanfiction.net, but I can't find it there.)

I've heard it suggested that people should look up dolphin reproduction, but I've never done so.
