Not justifying any of the evil Regina's done, but where the hell is the evidence supporting your claim that she was abusive to Henry?

Gaslighting = abuse

abuse doesn't have to be physical to exist, it can be mental as well

Did you not see the first season where she constantly undermined him in order to keep her perfect town intact?

I don't know...I always found it pretty damn creepy that we were given pretty strong evidence that nothing actually did change in the town (see the episode that showed Storybrook right after the curse took effect and compare it with like the first ep where Snow is giving basically the exact same talk to her class of children who never age). It's amazing he grew up as well-adjusted as he did manage to (note, I got fed up and stopped watching like 5 eps into s3) considering he was growing up in a situation like that and his supposed mother and everyone else were telling him he was just making things up.

One of the creepiest things about the whole Regina and Henry situation is that (I think this was shown after 3.5, so) Regina could leave Storybrooke at any time. She didn't, instead she raised Henry in Groundhog Day, and she never gave a thought to what it would do to the son she claimed to love. She's lucky he didn't go really bonkers and try to kill her. That's honestly what I think would have happened eventually, especially as he grew into his late teens with no friends, no girl-or-boyfriends, adults that didn't remember him as a child... and that's not as creepy as the scenarios where the only adult woman who does remember him day-to-day/is capable of having a real relationship with him is Regina. Especially Regina circa season 1. The possibilities for creepy Oedipal stuff . . . ugh.

Most children with loving, happy mothers don't jump to the conclusion they are the Evil Queen out of the blue.
