Con-tastrophy

In a stunningly awesome turn of events, I thought that a con I'm going to was next weekend, when it is, in fact, this weekend, and my costume isn't done. So, I went to my friend's house with my sewing machine, to work on ours together, and she was on her mother's machine because hers broke.

Mine also refused to work at that point.

Then her mom's also broke.

Then, when I called my mom to see if we had any working sewing machines, it turned out that both hers, and the one that she inherited from her mother were broken. Yep. Out of five sewing machines, none of them worked.

Luckily, she was able to get one from her grandmother (she was really worried at first, because her costume is full of glitter, which her grandmother is not fond of), and I managed to get a hold of a family friend who is lovely and gave me hers "for as long as I need", but still! Out of seven (in total) sewing machines we had access to, two of them worked!

So that's what I was doing all weekend.

Anyone else have a fun weekend? Or maybe a funny story about a con-mishap? :3

Me too! I'm actually getting off F!S in about ten minutes to catch the bus home so I can work on it! I'm sculpting the shell today, and I'm hoping to finish sewing the casing to the top of the top, and get the foofy underskirt mostly done (I don't know how to zipper, so that's waiting until Wednesday when I'm going to be with my friend/sewing goddess again). Tentacles are tomorrow and Wednesday. (And maybe some of today). I don't think they'll take that long, but I have twelve pieces I need to cut out. :I

And I'll definitely take pics- actually, funny story, but I made a secret about this, oh gosh, a year or so ago? And people asked for pics then, but then things happened, and I legitimately wasn't able to get it done, but it's coming together, so... :D

Plus I have an Ariel. :D
