I hope you're using pre-movie to judge.

But really, I'd agree that spongebob's a solid saturday morning cartoon. But I wouldn't say it's a good baseline on what animation is capable as a whole.

What, do people have something against SpongeBob? IDEC, SpongeBob was fantastic.

I think it's less that people have something against Spongebob and more that they're judging the medium by a kids show.

Ah, okay. Well...whatever works for them. Some people do enjoy shows targeted at kids more than the alternative, I don't find it that weird.

At least it isn't about SpongeBob! (Yayyyyyyyy SpongeBob.)

I watch and love plenty of kids shows so I'm not judging but I know some people do.

Same, tbh, though I'd rather my kids didn't watch it. I can think of a bunch of other cartoons I'd rather sit them in front of than Spongebob.

Eh. Having grown up on things like Bullwinkle and Rocky, Mr. Peabody and Sherman, Fractured Fairy Tales and the like, Spongebob often just comes off shrill and a little hysterical to me, and while clever, not...amazing.

But - to each their own.

Yeah I agree. I mean I won't hold him to the same standard as shows like Justice League or Gargoyles, but compare him to something like Animaniacs then no. I'm sorry but Animaniacs is ten times better than Spongebob.

Heeee. I have never actually watched...any of those. Spongebob, yes, because my daughter did, and a few other things, but my animated days are very old.

Oh man, Animaniacs. I loved that show. IDK if it's that I caught the episodes as an adult when supervising my ex's children, vs watching them at the intended age, but I never got the appeal for Spongebob and don't understand why so many adults seem to love it. I feel old. :P

I don't agree with you. I'm not a huge fan of the show, but the band episode is up there with some of the funniest stuff I've seen in a cartoon.
