There was this person in the BSG circles I used to run in back when who insisted on spelling it "Roslyn" for the entire fucking duration of the show, and another who insisted on spelling in "Rosalind." The correct spelling of the name would be all over the goddamned community, and in all the fics, and in all the news articles, and in all the press releases, and so on and so on and so forth. Yet these people would respond to posts in which the name was spelled correctly with the incorrect spelling.
I see the same bizarre phenomenon over on a blog I follow. There's an individual named Debi. Debi is mentioned often in the blog. It is always spelled "Debi." But there are a couple commenters who repeatedly spell it "Debbie" or "Debby." And I'm like THAT IS OBVIOUSLY NOT THE CORRECT SPELLING WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU.
...wow. Okay.
