Hey, just a question. I'm not a natural organizer, and I'm kinda ballsing up the book club, I think. Any advise you can offer? You do FS day in day out, I think it's fair to say that you know your stuff.

I've never tried a book club and have no idea what they do, but uhh, basic organizational things off the top of my head:

Set a schedule! Maybe make a calendar image to link to in every post, detailing the days (like the color-coded one for the FS Secret Santa) to remind people when stuff is happening. I'd actually suggest not having a daily book thread and keeping it in GC - but doing it maybe 1-2 times a week, or less. Mon/Wed/Fri or something, so people know when to expect stuff, but aren't tired of discussing the same book every day.

Plan ahead! Have set questions or topics for the day or week - how far along are you in the book? Who's your favorite character? What's your favorite line or line of dialogue so far? If you had to ship something, what would you ship? What would you want to see fic or art of? Maybe an "About the Author" day. Something to kick-start discussion.

Go back and note down the usernames of people who showed interest. When a book is chosen, post what it is, then PM those people (you can send multiple at once through DW) and ask them to reply to you to confirm they're still interested - they might be missing the threads right now.
