(Anonymous) 2014-04-18 12:12 am (UTC)(link)I'd like some pointers on how to push through, myself.

I can give you some pointers but unfortunately I am not very good at doing that all the time myself. :( I do know that I have a tendency to think about aaaaaaall the things that need to be done, freeze up and freak out, and then do none of them. So one coping mechanism that has helped me a lot, and that I've started to do a bit more automatically, is stop thinking about everything and think about ONE THING. The rest of it isn't going to change or vanish while you're focused on something else. And when you finish one thing, that feeling of accomplishment is so great.
Hopefully people who are better at motivation and time management can chime in! I'm always interested in hearing those tips too.
(Also, taking breaks is good for you. I'm actually in one right now. If I try to read a textbook for too long, I fall asleep; try to write or process for too long, and I lose focus. Work for a while, play a game/get on f!s/check a blog, and work a little more. Baby steps!)

(Anonymous) 2014-04-18 01:26 am (UTC)(link)I think I'll take your advice and just focus on one thing at a time. If I think about everything right now, I know I'll freeze up like you said.
