I like her voice, but I recently noticed that she pushes at the end of every phrase during the chorus so that it sounds like this:

Let it Gooo-UH Let it Gooo-UH
Can't hold it back anymorrre-UH
Let it Gooo-UH Let it Gooo-UH
Turn away and slam the dooor-UH
I don't carre-UH, What they're going to saaay-UH

It's very subtle, but I can't help but notice it now. :(

Isn't she asthmatic? I thought I read that someplace.

The reason I don't really care for her voice is because when the song -- any song, not just "Let It Go", though that's the most egregious example, but she does it in "Defying Gravity" and "The Wizard and I" as well -- calls for stronger emotion, she starts shouting more than singing.

No idea. Let it Go's the first song I've noticed it in though, so... yeah.

And the shouting thing I'm okay with because it's just part of the whole belting movement. It's a technique in and of its own (although one that I personally suck at).

Yeah, I'm really not a fan of the belting movement. If I'm going to see a musical, I want to hear singing, not "shouting with orchestral accompaniment."
