Why is everyone always like "Phoenix/Edgeworth shippers will lynch me, they are scary people!!!" Guys, I'm not an active member of the fandom, but from beating around in it to see what it's like, the whole fandom is one big happy family. I don't ship or like Phoenix/Maya, Phoenix/Mia, Phoenix/Iris, or ... most other things, yes, whatever, but I'm not going to fucking lord that over your head, and from what I actually know about the fandom base, it looks like no one else will, either.

Additionally, Phoenix/Edgeworth is not as popular as everyone thinks.

I dunno, from its showing on LJ I'd say it's pretty popular... XD

But in seriousness, I agree. While a lot of us P/E shippers will gladly argue our position until the cows come home, in the end I'm not going to lynch you for liking Phoenix/Maya or whatever. By and large this is one of the friendlier fandoms I've been in.

I mean why would we have shipwars when we can all bond over cosplay pictures with large OBJECTION signs and Phoenix and Edgeworth hitting each other with briefcases.

I clearly have just been looking in the wrong places, then. It's my OTP and I can't seem to get enough of it, for some reason. Though I will say that hating P/E is still the "in" thing for a lot of newcomers to fandom, from what I've seen.

And yes! Why ruin a fandom of such delightful crack and pop culture nonsense when you can bond over said crack? Make SPARDA jokes! Crossover with any fandom on earth? Why ruin it with shipwars?

Exactly! Shit, I've got a crossover with Kingdom Hearts in the works and by god it's fun. I don't even particularly care if P/E subtext makes it in or not. Phoenix is defending Riku on murder charges and Gumshoe is trying to shoot Heartless with a gun! This is all the story needs.

...that sounds like the single best crossover in the history of crossovers.

I rather think it is. 8D

Right now I'm still working on the setup bit of the arc, wherein Sora meets Phoenix and Riku meets Edgeworth. It's a mindscrew for the lawyers. 8D
