This. Not to mention that his crew is totally cool with it, not even in a "wow! that's so unique! let's have a ~special moment~" but a "we always figured and it doesn't change anything" way.

IDK, I guess what I'm trying to say is that even though those individual scenes were flamboyant and played for laughs, they were presented as "normal" in the context of the film and I liked that.

I really liked this, too.

Yeah, I think it's the crew's reaction is why people consider that scene as "an improvement", to borrow from the Secret-Maker's. The fact that the crew is totally okay with it and didn't mock the captain or anything is nice.
