I feel like there's plenty Steve/Bucky/misery and Steve/Bucky/happiness and think we've been granted a gift by the gods with Winter Soldier. I've been wanting more Steve/Bucky since the first film so now that everyone's jumping all aboard the Stucky train I like Starbucks better I'm like, "YES!"

It'll quiet down eventually, but not this day.

This movie was kind of made for non-con... there's lots of options. Winter Soldier was a fucked up movie.

I've been wanting more Steve/Bucky since the first film
As WEIRD as that sounds coming from me, from those bits I saw of Cap 1 I did not get strong slash vibes as on this one (I think maybe the first time around I did not see the part after Bucky's capture, so I missed the best parts... idiot = me)... Because in here it looks like this is the new Titanic!AU... I would find it impossible not to ship them at least on a platonic level. And this pairing is making me read even gen Bucky fic, a first time ever for me.

The non-con is mandatory... the whole Winter Soldier project is the most con-non setting ever (shirtless torture scene and everything, because Sebastian Stan MUST be shirtless in every thing he stars in). Sooo fucked up >>> my own kind of playground. :D:D:D

I can believe it because I seem to be the only person in f!s who actually liked Steve/Bucky during Cap 1! (which doesn't make sense to me, but...apparently the pairing didn't make sense to a lot of other people either, sooo) I feel forever alone about that, lmao.

Gen is fantastic. It doesn't draw me in like shippy fic, but it certainly has its own appeal. Bucky is an interesting character and has went through some shit, so there's plenty of angsting feelings to explore.

TBH I'm amazed there aren't already like 20 non-con fics inspired by this movie, but given time I know they will appear.

Not the only one! Steve/Bucky's my favorite MCU ship, and I absolutely loved their dynamic in CA1. Best friends who bantered snarkily, role reversals, saving each others' lives, more angst than you can shake a stick at... That movie had virtually everything I want in a pairing other than make-outs.

Yessssssssssss, thank you for coming out of the shadows fellow Buckrogers fan! I've always been drawn towards bff's turned lovers pairings and I feel like Steve and Bucky have such a strong connection that it doesn't even seem far fetched. (I mean, of course it's never going to be canon, but it definitely makes more sense to me than a lot of popular MCU pairings. Not to bash on those pairings, just saying.) *sigh* I love their relationship. The way they strive to protect one another and how impossible it is for them to imagine their lives without one another... Urg, leave me here to die. Bucky just needs to remember already. He needs to remember so they can cuddle and watch movie marathons together and go to baseball games.

I said, “These two are soul mates” the first time I saw the film. I was only exaggerating a bit.

I can tell you my reasons! I hated what I saw of Cap 1, I thought it gave too much importance to things I didn't care about and glossed to much over things I wanted to know more about. Like, say, the fact that they did a super fast montage of cool things he did as CaP America, while instead focusing too much in pre-serum Steve. AND, while being pre-serum, I think they should have stayed more time with him and Bucky then! I don't know, shape them both more as characters and making us see WHY they love each other (because I didn't get it from the movie tbh).

Now in Cap 2 we get a bit shoved in our faces that these 2 guys were practically in love. And in fact they HAD TO create a new flash-back scene where we are shown that they loved each other even before (the one after the funeral). I think that they forgot to shape Bucky up in the first Cap. I could see he had superool potential, but I had no time to get attached, anf that's the main reason I still resent that movie.

Then of course you and many other people liked the movie and probably saw differently! That's okay, different sensibilities and all that. :D

Yea, it's all a matter of taste I guess. I liked how much pre-serum Steve we got and feel like his change into Cap wouldn't have been as meaningful without it. I def would've liked more Steve and Bucky, but I feel like what we got was very sweet and left a lasting impression with me.

But then even if I hadn't liked the movie I probably still would've shipped them. I don't need to love the source material to ship, though if I don't it's probably going to be more casual shipping.

Yep, I think we all saw something different in that movie! :D I think what counts now is that we seem to be all on board with the new Bucky love. They totally did a good job of setting is all up for the next movie, daaamn. :P

When I see Stucky I think of "Sticky", which...yea, not sexy (unless Steve is licking jam off Bucky's abs or something), but that's the name people are using!
